How can I ‘quick export as a PNG’ without including resolution information or a color profile?

Hello!

I used Photoshop 2020 and recently upgraded to 2024. With 2020, when I ‘quick export as PNG,’ it automatically exported the PNG without resolution information, as you can see in the picture. However, now with 2024, it includes the resolution information, which needs to be omitted for my work procedure.

I've tried everything I could, including Settings > General > Export > Quick Export Metadata > None, with no luck.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me figure this out. Thank you!

You are correct, I had forgotten that things have changed in 2024:

Photoshop 2024 (25.4.0)

Output Method Resolution Metadata (PPI) ICC Profile

Save/Save As/Save a Copy Resolution Metadata (PPI) ICC Profile
JPEG Retained Retained
PNG Retained Retained

Export As Resolution Metadata (PPI) ICC Profile
JPEG Metadata: Copyright & Contact Info Removed Retained
JPEG Metadata: None Removed Retained
PNG Metadata: Copyright & Contact Info Retained Retained
PNG Metadata: None Retained Retained

Quick Export Resolution Metadata (PPI) ICC Profile
JPEG Metadata: None Removed Removed
PNG Metadata: None Retained Removed

Save for Web (Legacy) Resolution Metadata (PPI) ICC Profile
JPEG Metadata: All Retained Retained
JPEG Metadata: All Except Camera Info Retained Retained
JPEG Metadata: Copyright & Contact Info Removed Retained
JPEG Metadata: Copyright Removed Retained
JPEG Metadata: None Removed Retained
PNG Metadata: All Removed Retained
PNG Metadata: None Removed Retained

Generate Image Assets Resolution Metadata (PPI) ICC Profile
JPEG Default Settings Removed Removed
JPEG Custom Configuration File Settings Removed Retained
PNG Default Settings Removed Removed
PNG Custom Configuration File Settings Removed Retained

Adobe Camera Raw Save Options Resolution Metadata (PPI) ICC Profile
JPEG Metadata: All Retained Retained
JPEG Metadata: All Except Camera & Camera Raw Info Retained Retained
JPEG Metadata: All Except Camera Raw Info Retained Retained
JPEG Metadata: Copyright & Contact Info Only Retained Retained
JPEG Metadata: Copyright Only Retained Retained
PNG Metadata: All Retained Retained

You might need to use Export > Save for Web (Legacy), or otherwise, third-party software such as ExifTool can batch remove the ICC and resolution values.

That screenshot appears to be correct, there is no PPI or ICC profile.

Please upload an actual image for investigation if you think otherwise.

Edit: I can see that the attached image is more legible than the inline image on my phone, there does appear to be resolution info.

Oops, my apologies. I attached the PNGs. I would like the "Resolution 300 x 300" to be omitted when I "quick export as PNG." Thank you for your reply!

@Stephen Marsh  I edited my post because I wasn't aware that things have changed recently.

If Quick Export now embeds the profile, that's about time. Then it's actually useful. Edit again - OK, still no profile, so back to being completely useless.

I checked again and Quick Export strips the ICC but now retains the resolution metadata for PNG – but not for JPEG. Looks like a bug to me!
