How can I remake or create something similar to this logo?

I need to make a fitness based design for class, but I can't wrap my head around how I cant make something similar to this (link & jpeg provided below), but I really love the direction and the concept. Any tips or ideas on how to go about this style for my project? or techniques  sonames  i have a direction of what to google?

For a crisp scalable rendition of this design, consider Illustrator as a more logical choice of application.

Use the perspective Grid too in Illustrator. You can, however, also do the perspective 3D by hand. Draw a crude design on pager. Scan or photograph and draw over the design, either in Ps or Illustrator.

One could create two matching 3D extrusions in Photoshop (a cuboid and the text) and merge the two 3D Layers, but as indicated above logos are often better created as vector data for scalability and output quality reasons. (edited)
