Hi,

I mainly work on Photoshop so I paid for photoshop only.

But I need to save may work to .ai file just for sending to Printing house, they say they only use .ai file.

How can I save my work from Photoshop cc into .ai file without illustrator?

Or I have to paid for illustrator only?

(But pay for the program just for saving file is just make me sad ;7;)

Thank for your answer.

Hi all,

Take a look at the following article to move designs between Photoshop and Illustrator for different workflow that suits your design objectives: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/move-designs-between-photoshop-illustrator.html

Also, if you are looking to work with Illustrator design in Photoshop? See this: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/use-illustrator-artwork-in-photoshop.html

Hope it helps.

Thanks,

Mohit

If they can only use AI file they must need a vector. You cannot save your file to AI, it must be recreated to their Specification.

There are copy shops  that will likely rent a workstation with Adobe `Illustrator on it or would be willing to convert it for for you.

Do you know how to use Illustrator? If you do, or if you can learn fast, you could download the trial. I don't know if it's only seven days, like Photoshop, or maybe longer.

Might they also accept pdf or svg?

Only using ai seems fairly unusual for a printshop.

Does your artwork include Shape Layers, Type Layers, Vector Masks?

No, my artwork just one layer of image. I think they want .ai for the correct color and maximum resolution.

I ask if .pdf ok and they say no.

Is .svg of .eps can be the same as .ai?

That printshop doesn't know what they are doing. Avoid, and look for another one. They'll accept AI only? Ridiculous. Terminate your business with them.

No, but they are vector file  formats.

No, my artwork just one layer of image. I think they want .ai for the correct color and maximum resolution.

That does not really make sense, the resolution of a pixel image does not change when it is placed in an Illustrator file.

Neither do the colors unless the image is unprofiled and the Illustrator Working Space is different from the image editing program’s.

I suspect the printshop expects that the image is a vector image (especially if it’s a logo), what is the design?
