How can you keep "aligned" from turning on automatically while using the clone stamp?

While using the Clone Stamp" tool, the "aligned" check box checks itself.   While painting I suddenly discover that my chosen clone source is moving.  Is there any way to keep this feature from turning itself on?

I cannot reproduce the problem.

Areyou using Tool Presets or Brush Presets with included Tool Settings while stamping?

Please provide an exact description (with screenshots or a screen recording including all pertinent Panels) of the situation when the undesired settings-change happens.

While painting, if you click numerous times in quick succession, the aligned check box comes on. While painting a large piece of trash from a grassy surface in a photo; when you click either too often or too quickly, you suddenly find that the source is moving (i.e., aligned) with the cursor. There is a perfectly good check box to click if you want this to happen. Why would anyone want this to happen automatically?

Again: I cannot reproduce the issue.

So as far as I am concerned it does not happen.

Can you provied a screen-recording of the issue happening (with all pertinent Panels visible)?

What have you done for all-purpose trouble-shooting so far?
Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

An aside: Aren’t you afraid the numerous repetitions of the same source will become noticable?

Since it does happen and I am not lying. I doubt your ability and/or knowledge to help me. This has been an annoying feature of this particular tool for years. This is my 3rd attempt to get help. I am not using any presets. I guess there is no one smart enough to help me.

Please mind your manners.

I clearly stated: »So as far as I am concerned it does not happen.« and I did not call you a liar.

I seem unable to find those other two threads so what are you talking about exactly?

The Clone Stamp tool.  If you paint (click) with it and click too often(?) or quickly(?), the “aligned” check box in tool options comes on automatically.  I.e., the chosen source begins to follow (move) with the brush/cursor.  You’ll be in the middle of painting something only to find that the source you are painting from is moving.  This may be an intentional feature of the tool, but I just find it disruptive, useless and annoying.  I just want to stop it from happening automatically.  There is a perfectly good check box to click if I want to activate this feature.

Please understand that this has been happening since I first purchased Photoshop in 2002 and in all the versions since. I believe it to be a regular feature of this tool; but one that I do not want.  I just want it to stop turning on automatically.

So as per the thread @Lumigraphics linked to it appears @larrys43843227 is probably alt-double-clicking even if not saying so.
