I am learning how to use photoshop but I don't know how to generate a template for an image in the size of a cup. I got into printing images to an 30oz Stanley cups but would like to simplfiy it by creating a template in photoshop. I was hoping to learn how to create a template that I can reuse to fit my images in it, and it would be resized to the measurements of the cup without any defects.

You could make a Smart Object (Layer > Smart Objects > Convert to Smart Object or right-click on the layer and select Convert to Smart Object) to contain the artwork that could be swapped out and then apply Warp (Edit > Transform > Warp) to the Smart Object.
Whenever you want to swap the artwork, double-click on the Smart Object to open the PSB file that contains it, place (File > Place Embedded... or File > Place Linked...) your new artwork, either hide or delete the previous artwork, and save (File > Save...).

Just for clarity, it sounds like you are not asking the usual - 'how do I warp my image around an image of a cup to simulate the image on a cup?' but rather 'how do I create a template that will be printed onto an actual cup by a printer?'
If the latter, then we need some further information.
Are the cup sides vertical or sloping? If vertical then you will need a document set up as a simple rectangle. If the slides slope then you will need the circumference at the bottom and top and the template will need some distortion. The hardest case, is a cup that does not taper smoothly but curves (like a typical teacup). That will need several careful measurements in order to make a template that will output your image in a distorted way but which will look correct on the cup.
Once you have a template (rectangular or distorted as required) then add a smart object for your image and warp the smart object into place, as described by Myra above.
You can save the document as a template (psdt file) and simply replace the image in the smart object when you want to change it.

Helo Dave thanks for the reply. The cup is from the brand Stanley and it is measured as a 30oz cup . I believe it is not tappered or curved in the middle so it is likely a vertical cup, besides having a top portion or lower portion. So as an example I should create a new document and use the rectangle tool to draw out a rectangle with adjustment to the size of the cups circumfence and height. After that I woud save that as a PSDT file to create it as a template. From this point I'm sorry to say that I am unsure how to fit in the image, as well as ensuring the image will fitted to the size of the bottle. I understand to make the image a smart object first but am unsure whether to resize that image into the shape of the rectangle or can I somehow get the image to convert automatically to the shape of the template. Myyra was very helpfull to mention doing a placed embbeded/ placed link feature that would help would help placement of the image in the template with the smart object, so i probaly will test that as well.
