How do I get rid of the unwanted 'opening screen' in Photoshop 21.0?

How do I get rid of this Photoshop 21.0 opening screen?

What do they call it?

How do I permanently suppress it and make Photoshop always default to just a blank workspace?

Thanks,

Autochthon

Okay, that shouldn't happen under normal circumstances. If you open and close a document, then exit, the next time you launch Photoshop the Home screen should be gone. If you've tried that several times and the Home screen still shows up, try using the “Reset Preferences on Quit” setting on that same tab. There is info on how to first backup your existing Preferences here: Preferences in Photoshop (adobe.com) Let us know how it goes!

Hi @autochthon9906625 Under Edit > Preferences in the General tab, uncheck the box "Auto show the Home Screen."

Thanks! I did what you suggested and my Prefs screen looks like yours, now, but Photoshop STILL insists on showing me the same unwanted opening screen shown in my original post's attachment.  Dang!
