How do I know if the current layer is empty or not by alert ...and thanks alot

If the layer is a normals layer and its bounds is all zeros I would say its an empty layer.

    Photoshop layers can have a lot of unseen data like UV maps and even images which are temp turned off... we would need to know what type of layer you are talking about
