Question

How Do I Launch PSCC 2019 When Storms knock out Internet Service?

Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 is useles after natural disasters unless someone knows a workaround to the Adobe Creative Cloud log in.

I discovered after Hurricane Dorian that APSCC2019 will not launch when there is no internet connection available. APSCC2019 will start to load, and then the Creative Cloud Log-in console appears. Without log-in ability, Creative Cloud halts the APSCC2019 load and ends the task without further notice.

My location in the USA has experienced 3 major hurricanes in three years. For Irma and Maria in 2017 there was no internet for 8 months. The next time an emergency situation or natural disaster arises, how long will I lose the use of this product I paid for? I can make my own electricity, I cannot make my own internet. Think about that, Adobe.

Community ... do you know of a work-around or should I demand a refund and use a competitor's photoart product that is non-internet dependent? I have gotten no help or response from Adobe tech support. 9 days and counting .... 😞

[Note: I had to revert to Photoshop CS5.1 to get any work done.] Also note that I do not use cloud services, nor wish to. Creative Cloud is 'force use', unparralled in my two decades using Photoshop, Aldus or Adobe. I do not need to be, or want to be, on-line to produce locally.

For clarity we do not work for Adobe or speak for the company. We are customers who use the software a lot and volunteer our time to try to help other users on this forum.

We have tried offering suggestions but only direct contact with Adobe Customer Care will confirm whether any other alternatives are available. All I can say is, outside of the grace period mentioned above, I've not heard of any.

However, your replies are becoming personal and for that reason I will not be responding further on this thread.

Good luck

Thank you. I also was not aware that this is totally volunteer. Why would Adobe refer me here for their tech issues????????????

My mobile plan allows my mobile to be used as a "wireless hot-spot" using my celluar service. You would turn that function on in your phone's settings, then connect your computer to it like any wireless hotspot. I'm hoping your company will allow this. It really helped while our internet was down while waiting for a modem replacement.

Adobe simply requires that connection to verify/activate the software. They don't know whether your area has the resources or if a natural disaster knocks out communication. It's just their way of fighting activation fraud that allows others to take the software without paying.

AT&T does not offer that service. I've used Photoshop since 1994 and never had to go through this rigamarole. I am rolling back to 5.1 and seriously considering saying good bye as a customer. Since you speak for Adobe, as confirmed through your knowledge that "They don't know whether your area has the resources or if a natural disaster knocks out communication" ... It is inappropriate and possibly illegal to mislead or decieve customers. You most certianly DO KNOW our regions resources and circumstances as detailed in multiple annual reports. You can't play me for a fool, just the rest of the readers who do have the proof that your statement is false. Adobe should fire you.

I wonder if you actually read other people's posts. There is not one single Adobe employee in this thread. Not one. Just other users with endless patience trying to help you. We'll all miss you when you move to another image editor...

Hi
I don't work for Adobe, but I understand all CC plans require login to confirm the subscription.
You would need to talk to Adobe Customer Care to see if there is anything can be done in exceptional circumstances.

Are there any mobile services running to give internet access (and access to this forum)?

You may not know, but minorities resent being called 'exceptional'. It seems Adobe has joined other major corpoarations in reducing service to Minority-governed areas of the U.S. Minority controlled regions have less resources and communications services. These companies have realized this and created plans that force minority areas to pay more to recieve the same or lesser services as financially sound white majority controlled areas. So, the software is now programmed to serve the monied elite. Can you blame them? As a native born American, I should not have to go through this and pay more for the same thing as privileged Americans. Because I live in an underprivileged black area???? (45 minutes through traffic to find a slow connection emergency hot spot, by the way).

I appear to have offended you. I was not referring to any minorities as exceptional but to the circumstances you described i.e. hurricanes putting the internet out of action for months. That is why I said "exceptional circumstances". I have not mentioned race or people so please do not take my reply as being offensive to any people. I neither think or talk that way.

Hi
The requirement is for log in every 30 days but there should be an additional grace period , which depends on your plan.

Thank you. We can have service interruptions lasting longer than 90 days. Do you have a plan does not require a log in? That would be best given my location and amount of time spent at sea. Not all of us are fortunate enough to live on the mainland. PS never need log in before. 😞

Dave is correct that Adobe customer care can extend log in periods for Creative Cloud users given certain circumstances. They have replied and posted about the same in this forum previously. Contact Customer Care to discuss. Nothing can be done on a User-to-User forum.
