How do I make a melting ice effect on this picture?

In this picture, you can see it has ice at the top

In this one there is no ice at the top I want to do something like the 2nd one, except I dont want to remove all the ice. I want to remove only some of it, as if it got melted. How can i do this?

      Overlay the image with the ice on the one without, apply a Layer Mask to it (Layer > Layer Mask > Hide All) and paint with white to reveal it.
