How do I paste a single Fx to layers that already have existing and differing effects?

I have 20 layers each with their own unique layer effect.

I want to append a Drop Shadow fx to every one of those 20 layers; in which each layer already has an existing layer style, and they're all different.

How can I achieve this?

Is there any reason why you can't simply open Layer Styles for each layer in turn and add the drop shadow?  You'll know that you can have multiple drop shadows?

If the drop shadows are identical, then you could select and make all of the layers into a Smart Object and add the layer style drop shadow to that.

Does that work?

It takes too long.

Yes, but I wanted to append existing Fx to various layers of varying effects.  Let's say a layer has a drop shadow already, it would be cool if I could somehow paste an Fx that gets added to the layers existing effect pool, so it would technically have two drop shadows, the one it had already, and the one I just pasted.

This works as a temporary solution for now! Thanks! I need to use those smart objects more.
