What file format was your picture at the beginning of your work?
What file format are you trying to import into sams club?
I suppose that you were reading in a JPEG and try to import a Photoshop file into sams club (what ever that may be).
Try File->Save As and choose JPEG. CHoose an appropriate compression (quality) and you will get a file of moderate size.
But as you're talking about "impoting" into Photoshop, are you using by chance Photoshop Elements?

It seems odd that adding a name and date to a file would drive the file size up by an additional 28 meg. Does deleting that single name-and-date layer return the file to 6 meg?
Also, Sam's Club lists "Supported file types: .jpg, .jpeg, .jpe, .jfif, .gif, .tif, .tiff, .bmp, .dib, .png"
Are you sending a flattened file?
