How do you straighten angled lines?

How do you straighten lines without changing their angle? I only know how to use perspective warp, but that makes all the lines either vertical or horizontal. I'm doing architectural photography and some lines need to be at an angle.

Reading your post again, I am thinking you are talking about straightening curved, or bent lines. Is that closer to what you are after? If this is a building, then Camera RAW > Geommetry is your forst step. Actually it is your second step, because Optics > Lens Profile is the first.

They have moved Geommetry to the Crop tool now, and it is not as I remember it from when I used to work as a photographer. For iinstance there used to be a Barrel distortion correction, which I am not seeing. Is this closer to what you need?

I would like to straighten curved lines that are at an angle while preserving their angle. I don't want to make them vertical or horizontal. How would I achieve this?

for example if there are 2 converging lines, but both are slightly bent, how do I straighten them while making sure they still converge at the same angle?

OK. The thing to understand about your image is that it is not just the flagpole that is distorted. The lens distortion affects all straight lines in the image, it’s just that the problem is most visible in the flagpole. Which means my previous answer still applies, you should adjust overall lens distortion. The demo below shows Filter > Lens Correction in Photoshop; click the Custom tab and adjust the Remove Distortion option until the flagpole looks straight to you. When I do it, the flagpole seems straight with a Remove Distortion value somewhere around -3.

In the demo below, first I adjust by dragging the Remove Distortion slider, but the second time I select the Remove Distortion Tool on the left and drag that over the image. Both adjust the same value, it’s up to you whether you’d rather adjust controls or the number on the right, or drag on the image itself with the Remove Distortion Tool.

Can you show us an example image and describe exactly what you want to acheive?
Do you know about using the ruler and straighten layer?

Do you want to rotate an entire layer, or an element on that layer?

Or do you want to skew an element?

Bottom line is we need a lot more information, and screen shots, but I am sure we can help with that information.

Do you know about the Geometry tools in the Camera RAW filter?
