I am recording a drawing as an Action and want to know how many key strokes will be recorded before it is full?

Are you worried about reaching a limit?

One thing an action can do is run another action. Look in the Default Actions and you will see a pair of actions that does this. The Frame action runs another action first. Sorry, I don't recall the name of the first action, but you'll see it  as a step in the Frame action.

You can always drag steps to another action to move them or option + drag them to copy them.

I haven't heard of a limit, but you could record the steps in parts and then either link them to run in sequence or copy steps to make one long action after the smaller parts are working.

And then report back if there is or is not a limit, please.

Key strokes or are you using tool recording to record brush strokes for a drawing?    I don't use tools recoding, I did test it when it was first added but found many things were not recorded  when using brushes.  I can not remember what.  Perhaps sizes with pen pressure may color changes. All I remember I though it was not implemented well and was not generally useful.   I also install Adobe Scriptlistener Plun-in which actually disable Photoshop tool recording feature "Allow Tool Recording" is grayed out in my Action Palette fly-out menu. I do remember a large quantity of data was recorded and how much was recorder also seems relate to the speed of your processor.
