How many RAW files can i use for panoramas? i'm trying 23 but no luck.

I am using Photoshop cc 2017 and trying to create a panorama using 23 raw files.I have gone to file,Automate,photomerge,used Auto in the layout then create and what i get is attached, any help much appreciated, thanks.Screen Shot 2017-07-15 at 6.03.08 PM.png

That result seems to indicate not enough overlap or reference features.

Is your system performance an issue?  You can set ACR to output something less than full res files to ease the load.   Keep an eye on your scratch file creation while the merge is being processed.  Are you running out of scratch space?   What are you system specs, and how much memory have you allocated to Photoshop?  Have you left the OS enough to manage all the file handling as well as its general house keeping?

Nobody can tell you anything without exact system info or other technical details. Typically this happens when the program simply runs out of memory. You can always try to pre-convert your Raws to TIFFS or whatever and this may avoid some overhead associated with invoking Camera Raw and allow you to get your panorama.
