lets say that after using the magnetic lazo tool i want to improve the selection moving the dots in or out without having to do it all over again, what's the easiest way to do this?

Also, if i leave the hairs for later, what tool can allow me to select hairs without selecting the entire figure again? thank you

Because you're using CS6 which doesn't have all the newest Photoshop selection options, you might instead try using Adobe Express which has a quick action to Remove Background (https://express.adobe.com/sp/tools/remove-background). Then you can bring that resulting image back into Photoshop for additional editing.

OMG! Can't believe it's that quick!

use Layer Masks and then Select and Mask for the hair. Also, do yourself a favor and use Select Subject, not the Mag Lasso.

i have CS6

Select Subject and the Object Selection tool both came out several versions after CS6. I think you have Refine Edge for the hair, but it doesn't work as well as techniques that came out after CS6.

Try these links to learn more about Refine Edge:

thank you!

just another question, i tried selecting hair with  with channels and it worked, i used the red channel because it had the most contrast between hair and background to create a mask and it was simple just like select subject

the problem is it selected everything that was black, so all i had to do is paint white on the mask to deselct the shirt, it worked but i still see pixels coming out of the shirt, what did i do wrong?

also to avoid this in the future, how can i use channels to select just hair and not the entire figure? thank you i will watch tutorial about refine edge
