How to blend/match different grain?

HI all, I have this composite photo I am trying to blend the grain around the subject to match the grain of the environment but I am unable to. I tried using the spot healing brush and other tools of the same sort but it ends up looking like im smudging the grain around in the image. File world2square2 has the untouched 2 different grains. World2blend is my attempt at blending. Any idea how to smooth out the grain/get the grain to match?

Use frequency separation. You can find many tutorials about this processing method. With it, you can separate image details from noise and process them separately.

Uploading the layered PSD would be more useful.

 

Edit: what I mean is that you should have an irregular shape layer mask on the upper layer so that there isn't a noticeable rectangle of different grain. You can then add an overall noise layer to unify if needed.

This is really good, this is the closest I've gotten to perfecting it but the grain still looks a little smudgey around the subject... thank you for this but any idea on how to clean it up?

I wouldnt attempt to "smooth" out the grain - instead why not try creating a grain texture to match on a separate layer and overlay on the new composite parts?

Cant seem to get a grain texture that matches, the square part with the different grain  I shot in studio with a higher ISO so I believe there are white spots in the grain. I cant seem to replicate the grain accurately enough  to overlay on the rest unfortunately
