how to create a PDF file that allows me to choose between "page" or "picture"?

Hi everybody I'm new here and I was wondering if you could help me solve this problem.

I need to create a multiple page PDF file based on a template that I own, the only problem is that when I save the PDF and then I open it again, it doesn't allow me to choose between "view as pages" or "view as picture", thus the template remains under my image in both situations.

I would like to obtain a PDF that allows me to choose between "page" (where I can see both the template and the image) and "picture" where it shows me just the image.

I've tried saving the PDF in different ways but it always shows, it must be something I'm doing wrong on the template layer.

I hope you can help me

Greetings

Maybe post in the Acrobat forum

In Acrobat preferences you can get the zoom level for a PDF.

What do you mean by image. Do you mean viewing images without other content ?

exactly.

Let's say you have a pdf of book page: it has both writing and pictures. When you open it on PS it allows you to open it as a page (thus viewing both the writing and the photos) or as a picture (so extrapolating just the photos).

How do I achieve this with a file made of two layers (one being a template, that's just basically a grid and nothing else) and the other one being a photo?

In Photoshop, when you save your files as PDF, Acrobat can't read PS Layers because layers in acrobat are different.
But you can save every layer to separate PDF from File>Export>Layers to files and choose PDF.
___

In Illustrator, You can make your design in layers (layer for text and another one for images), saving your file as PDF with preserving Create Acrobat Layers option:

and when you go to acrobat you can manage your PDF Layers as it is in Illustrator:Captu232re.JPG

I would use Artboards to make this in Photoshop

  • generate artboards from the layers i.e, each artboard will be another page at the end

Screenshot (1367).png

  • arrange your artboards and select the 'export' 'artboards to PDF' tool

Screenshot (1369).png

  • pick the options, in most senarios you untick 'selected artboards' (unless you just want that single one or two) and tick 'name' + 'page order'

Screenshot (1370).png

  • run the script... it can take some time but I like that this script tells you it worked so you get feedback

  • the PDF will have pages and is a good option when you need to add metadata for jpegs quickly without having to teach yourself Indesign
