How to deselect any box when clicking out of the box (read description)...

I was wondering how to deselect those boxes (any value boxes actually) by clicking away from it. When you do this in older versions, you could just click anywhere to untick the blue box, but for some reason, this keeps on type mode in 2020. It's very annoying when i try to zoom with alt+scroll, Because it will scroll trough values.

It should turn grey after clicking somewhere, but it doesn't... Is this a setting or something?
