how to design my idea in photoshop

so I have a capsules compay that I made up and I'm a total newbie in Photoshop.

I have this idea of how I want to design my capsules but no idea how to start.

can you please help me?

The Polygon shape tool will work for that. Select the tool and set the number of sides to eight in the options bar

Also in the options bar, set the fill to red, and turn the stroke off (diagonal red line)

Now build up the bands with multiple strokes using layer styles (Double click the layer to open layer styles)

The higher strokes cover up the strokes below them, so you have to think about the order and color of each stroke

I made the first dstroke red and 20 pixels, the second white and 40 pixels and so on.

Each time I made the stroke, click on the + sign to copy it, and modify the lower stroke and repeat till done.

Do you want to add shading to give it a 3D appearence?
