layer 1 Man with beard

layer 2-10 also man with beard but different pose

now I'd like to change the beard on all layers, because I don't like it anymore the way it is drawen.

How to apply 1 change (strokes) to all layers equally?

You apply additional brush strokes to a new layer.  If you want to remove parts of the existing layers, you either group them or make them a Smart object, and add a layer mask to the group or SO, and paint out with black.

You can use Actions to recording then apply this action for other layer!

You could create an Action that allows you to recreate what you did on multiple layers without having to go through all the steps again. Actions are fun I use them for all kinds of things that have multiple steps to an effect.

just watched the start, and it already sounded very complicated and long. I know it's not too complicated but my mind is not ready to take up such heaps of information now and I don't have the willpower to go through that torture now.

Wether it works or not, this method is way too time consuming. I was looking for a simple way.

This program obviously can't do that simple task in 1 step.

Here is the thing, what you are asking for simply does not exist, not in Photoshop, and not in any drawing program. Unless the beard is in the same place for each pose/layer, there is no way for a software to interpret where your beard is. If the beard isn't in the same place on all the drawings, then drawing the beard once and make 10 duplicates of that layer. Then alter the beard using the free transform tool for each layer and merge them. If the beard is always in the same place, then just leave out the free transform part.

And as for drawing on multiple layers, you can't do it in manga studio, paint tool sai, or any other drawing program that I know of. It simply does not make much sense because when you save your poses as image files you can adjust which layers you see anyways. Why have 20 copies of the same layer if you can just have one that does the job all on its own once you export the image?

If you had told me it was about animating and not about drawing, then I would have given you a different answer. Besides, you aren't talking about layers, you're talking about frames. Of course animating software allows you to change a character, so it looks different throughout the whole movie, at least if you are creating a rig. What you are looking for is adobe animate. You only really use Photoshop for frame by frame animation. And I'm sorry, but if you think that that an animation that is reliant on drawing each frame separately can be altered so easily, you are misled. If I take a frame and change the hair color from red to brown, it wont automatically sync to every other frame, unless that character is a used in very other frame which it isn't.

Now as to how it works in adobe animate as that is obviously the program you are looking for. Simply, draw your character and turn it into a motion clip. Add the bone structure to your character, animate it however you want and if you want to change something about your character so he/she looks different during the entire animation then simply change it in the motion clip.

You can also create an adobe character animator rig and animate it using character animator, a part of after effects. Just look into the details of how that works by opening the tutorial.

I'm sorry, but if you really want to animate with Photoshop, you will be stuck with primitive frame by frame animation. Which is already a good feature considering the program is meant to edit photos, it even says it in the title

Adobe has been making professional creative products for the last 20 years and hasn't gone out of business yet, many people use there products, so they must be doing something right. Their team is more than capable.

This sounds not ideal. I understand the "Make a new layer" put it above all the other layers. And draw what on that, activate that layers with the others so u can see it on the other layers. The other things with the smart object sounds fussy. And I didn't quite understand. Do I  see them all at once? So they are all visible? And I use erase tool=?

But what I am talking about is not always "remove and add" But something like "Select all layers and draw/erase on all of  them simultaniously or printing something through" Like I want a small detail for layer 1 projectiled on layer 2, and I want to burn it through so to speak. Dunno how to explain.

That's the solution I was looking for.

Why can't I simply select two layers and draw and erase on them simultanously?

THis is ridiculous, I want to contact ADOBE team but there seems to be no way to contact them. it's a major program flaw that I am talking about.

your method is unsuited and doesnt get the job done that I am talking about.
