layer 1 Man with beard

layer 2-10 also man with beard but different pose

now I'd like to change the beard on all layers, because I don't like it anymore the way it is drawen.

How to apply 1 change (strokes) to all layers equally?

    You apply additional brush strokes to a new layer.  If you want to remove parts of the existing layers, you either group them or make them a Smart object, and add a layer mask to the group or SO, and paint out with black.

    You can use Actions to recording then apply this action for other layer!

    You could create an Action that allows you to recreate what you did on multiple layers without having to go through all the steps again. Actions are fun I use them for all kinds of things that have multiple steps to an effect.

    just watched the start, and it already sounded very complicated and long. I know it's not too complicated but my mind is not ready to take up such heaps of information now and I don't have the willpower to go through that torture now.

    Wether it works or not, this method is way too time consuming. I was looking for a simple way.

    This program obviously can't do that simple task in 1 step.

    I am talking about the layers not the frames. I don't know why u mention frames.

    The layers are used for the frames. For each frame I use a different layer which is a dublicate of layer 1.

    Layer 1 = guy with beard (looks happy).  ---> frame 1

    layer 2 = copy of layer 1 (looks sad) -----> frame 2

    .  .............................. .    ----> frame 3

    etc.

    -----> frame 10

    Again layer 2-10 are ALL copies of layer 1. They simply have different emotions or their eyes look to another direction. But the guy with the beard is sitting there in the same spot not moving.

    If I want to change the lines of the head. I would have to do it  on every layer, which I don't want. It will looks inconsistent.

    Changes are done to layers not to frames. Frames use these layers by deacting them or activating.

    I clearly want to change the LAYERS not the frames.

    this is the most simplest task. There should be an option to burn the changes through the next layer.

    Like deleting the beard of layer 2, and letting beard of layer 1 shine through and taking it.

    I am tired now, burnt out probably, from thinking too much, researching the internet and stuff. I can't write good English now.

    This sounds not ideal. I understand the "Make a new layer" put it above all the other layers. And draw what on that, activate that layers with the others so u can see it on the other layers. The other things with the smart object sounds fussy. And I didn't quite understand. Do I  see them all at once? So they are all visible? And I use erase tool=?

    But what I am talking about is not always "remove and add" But something like "Select all layers and draw/erase on all of  them simultaniously or printing something through" Like I want a small detail for layer 1 projectiled on layer 2, and I want to burn it through so to speak. Dunno how to explain.

    That's the solution I was looking for.

    Why can't I simply select two layers and draw and erase on them simultanously?

    THis is ridiculous, I want to contact ADOBE team but there seems to be no way to contact them. it's a major program flaw that I am talking about.

    your method is unsuited and doesnt get the job done that I am talking about.
