How to get print size I want?

I rarely print a copy of a photo, so forgive this basic question.  I need to have an 8x10 print of what is now a RAW image in Photoshop.  However, when I change image size to what I want, the resulting print is much smaller -- closer to 4 x 5.   Do I need to save the RAW as a jpeg first, then print?  Is this a printer setting problem?  I am using Windows 10, current Photoshop, and an Epson printer I normally love.  I tried Adobe's tutorial with the same result.

A few things to check.

1. In image size, make sure you are selecting 8 x 10 inches and not 8 x 10 cm

2. In the Photoshop print dialogue scroll down and make sure you are not scaling down the image.

3. In print settings, which takes you to the Epson printer dialogue, make sure you have no further scaling set.

    You RAW file image most likely does not have a 4:5 aspect ratio. An 8x10 print has a 4:5 Portrait aspect ratio or a 5:4 landscape aspect ratio.   So you need to Crop your RAW conversion RGB image to a 4:5 aspect ratio.   My preferred method to crop is to use the rectangle marque tools to set a 4:5 selection  for the area I want to print then use Image>Crop.   I have a thing about the crop tool  I do not like to resample my images for print.   If you do not know how to use the crop tool well. It may resample your crop because of how you set its settings.  Once I have my 4:5 crop I use image size un-check resample and set the 8x10 size and let Photoshop set the proper print ppi.

      Check your printing properties? The maybe set to print 4x6?

        This is what I was thinking. A lot of time people print from the (first) print menu dialog box. I would check the setup or print properties button. I'm on a Mac so that button is usually bottom left in the print box.
