I have spent hours looking for an answer on how to get Photoshop 7 to work with windows 7 pro. so far all I get is a bunch of double talk
and you need to buy this program or buy that program.
I guess I thought that with all the money adobe has made on all there constant up-graded programs that they would at least be able to tell people like me and other users that like using Photoshop 7 how to install PS 7 or at least have a patch that will allow users like me to be able to continue using PS 7.
But like all large companies all they see is there BOTTOM LINE.
This old foggie would be very happy with using windows XP, small business 2003 and photoshop 7.
I sure could use some help.
I purchased both photoshop CS 2 and small business 2007 and personally I think that they are to damn confusing for an old goat like.
I have already switched back to SB 2003 and need help loading PS 7.
Someone must have an answer to this dilemma, I know there are a lot of very smart people out there that could solve this problem in a heart beat.
Thank you.

Yes, indeed, software makers want you to pay for the work they do, whether it is the work of new features or the work of making stuff work in new systems and new computers. If you want to run old software, DON'T SELECTIVELY UPGRADE. Just like you can't keep running an old car but selectively put in parts from a newer model. Keep running XP. And be aware of the terrible risks: disconnect from the internet.
You already said you're happy to run XP. Why don't you? Perhaps this is the line you need to focus on. It was a great system and still is, apart from being a sitting target for every bad guy on the web.

Ps 7 should install and run on windows 7 pro just fine, with one major caveat, if you hard drive has more than 1 TB of free space then ps 7 won't start because it can't read free space larger than 1 TB and will give a scratch disk full error.
You have a ps7 install cd?
What happens when you insert the cd and try to install ps 7?

It's normal for any company no more to take care about old outdated software. Ps 7 is from 2002, that makes 16 years of advances in the software and to look at it differently: Adobe just turned 35, so that's just a little bit less of half of Adobe's life time.
This is the place to come, if you need help. But probably only a few can provide first hand aid to your problems. Most (me included) do not have even the disks any more (I never had, because we jumped Ps 7 to go directly to CS1).
And helpers will help, without directing you to software you need to buy, well, except that everybody with some knowledge of the problematic situation here would give you the advice to change to a current version...
