How to make elements outside the canvas visible in Photoshop?

Once I drag an object off of my canvas it disappears in the grey document window. Is there a way to see items that fall outside of the canvas bounds? I don't understand why they removed this.

"I don't understand why they removed this."

They didn't, it wasn't available in Photoshop.

Illustrator and Photoshop are two different worlds even if they share some tools and options.
