Question

How to make pencil default for brush stamp presets?

Could anyone tell me how to make photoshop select pencil as default tool rather than brush when you click one of the brush stamp presets?  I need to switch between move tool, marquee tool and pencil alot, but when I click on one of the stamps when any tool besides pencil is selected it switches the stamp to a brush.

Or is there a way to turn the brush tool to be just like pencil without the fuzzy edges?  Thank you!

Hi, thank you for the reply.  I am still having a little trouble though, I don't think I explained it well enough.  So for example, say I have the marquee or move tool selected.  When I click on one of the brush presets in the brushes window while having marquee tool selected, it selects the brush tool by default.  Is there a way to make it default to pencil tool instead?  I know I can select the pencil tool with my cursor, but I am trying to make photoshop default to pencil if I click one of the shapes in the brush presets window.

I never want to use brush for them, because I need the solid edges, not blurred.

I am loading a .ABR file with stamp presets from an old version of CS5 I used to use at work, and need them to all default to the pencil tool.  I use them to write music with, and quickly switch from marquee, move and pencil with keyboard button presets, but sometimes I click right on the stamp and if it switches to brush it makes the edges fuzzy which really messes me up.  If you can help it will save me possibly hundreds of thousands of button presses.
