How to make text appear part of a texturized background

Hello, I am working on a school project and had a question regarding text editing and texture. My project is based on the moon, and so I want my poster to have the texture of the moon's surface, while having a word (such as moon, moonlight, etc.) on it as well. But I want the text to look sort of like it's been 'carved' or placed 'under' the texture, if that makes sense?

I've attached an image that seems to best fit the effect I'm looking to create.

Thank you!

Hi Hannah! This video tutorial looks like it might give the effect you're describing?
