Hi,

Could you help me to find a quick method to remove the background of this kind of pictures ?

IC_1.jpg

When I use the "Select Subject" function of Photoshop, the result is not good (see picture below).

So I have to select each pin the package of the electronic component to select the complete component

Then I invert the selection to remove the background.

Do you know a quick method to remove the background ?

Thanks a lot for your help 🙂

Hello norman.sanders 🙂
Your method seems very good but I don't succeed to do it.
For the fig 3, what do you call "b dupe (Alpha)" ?

Thanks 🙂

For the fig 3, what do you call "b dupe (Alpha)" ?

The instruction is to make a duplicate copy of the  b  channel. A duplicate copy is sometimes called a "dupe".

The channel that holds the duplicate is called an Alpha channel.

I used the words dupe and alpha so that people who call it a dupe or an Alpha channel would know what I was referrng to.

To make the duplicate drag the channel down to to symbol I marked in the center image.

One small additional note: Thank you for the Correct notatio

It will not be that good done quickly.  Using the Magic wand and maskinh you will be able to remove nost of the blur board but not all near the chip. You would need to do a pin at a time,  Here is a quick magic wand created mask.

Hello norman.sanders,

Thank you, yours explanations helps me because I didn't know the terms "dupe" and "alpha".

How to do : "increase steepness of Curve of b dupe (Alpha) channel by dragging the endpoints horizontally" ?

because I don't get the same results as your fig. 3.

Thanks 🙂
