I worked on photoshop all day on my iMac. This evening I opened photoshop and everything is gone: All tools, the option bar, everything. How the heck do I get everything back? I've attached a screenshot of the open, and empty, program window.

I think I found it. Window>Workspace>Essentials. Then >restore essentials.

Do you know how this could have happened?

How to reset the preferences in Photoshop

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html

Note: Make sure that you back up all your custom presets, brushes & actions before restoring Photoshop's preferences. Migrate presets, actions, and settings

I hope this helps
