How to show lines on drawing.

Why are my lines going away?

I drew 3 horizontal lines that are showing ok, but when I draw 2 more vertical lines across, the vertical lines are disappearing.

I also merge the layer with the 3 horizontal lines before trying to draw the vertical lines.

I tried to do the "multiply" option, but still didn't show my vertical lines.

The video won't play (This video is unavailable.)  I can't really tell much from your screen shot - what tool are you using to create the lines, and what are your colors and blend modes set to?
