Question

How to stop Photoshop 2025 from launching at startup

Hello everyone,

Just bought a new Macbook Pro and after installing Photoshop 2025 v26.3.0, it automatically starts when I turn on my Mac. The option "Open at Login" is not checked on the PS Icon in the dock. Is there someplace in the Photoshop settings that is telling it to launch at startup? I'd like to turn this off because I do not use Photoshop every day.

Thanks for your help!

This is actually a macOS issue, not a Photoshop issue.

  • On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click General in the sidebar.

  • Click Login Items & Extensions. (You may need to scroll down.)

Details on Apple's support pages:

Hi Jane,

Thank you for the reply. I checked that and the only items in my Open at Login is Acrobat Collaboration Sync and Microsoft Teams. Photoshop does not show up there at all.
