How to Stop PShop Auto-updating Text Layers upon File Open (Ver 19.1.5)

Hey All,

I'm experiencing strange behavior in this update where upon file open of my .psds, occasionally Photoshop will immediate take an action marked in my History panel as "Update All Text Layers" and in doing so always changes a set amount of type layer fonts to something other than what they were.

Problematic in that if I don't notice or go looking for this to undo it, I run the risk of having templates ruined upon saving the file.

There appears to be no configuration in Preferences to disable this (or even speaking to it). I've reset all my confirmation prompts as well but this behavior doesn't lend an option to disable.

Anyone else experiencing or have a solution to this?

This is what the behavior lists as in the "History" panel. Upon closing the file and not saving (PS prompts to save as it has changed the file), when re-opened this does not trigger again making it somewhat random.

Anyone familiar with this in particular and an option to disable?

In almost 20 years of Photoshop use I never did experience this behavior.

The only help I can offer to avoid overwriting your template is to save your master file as a real template.

In order to do so you must save your file as a Photoshop template file. You cannot choose this from the drop down, instead you must manually add a letter t to the extension so it reads *.psdt

Next important step is to close the file after saving and then reopen it to use it. It now is a new Untitled document. This wont prevent the type change should it occur again but at least your master file is unharmed.
