If you have an image on a layer and you want to trim the canvas exactly to that image, how to do it?

Hi
Two choices:
If there are no other pixels on any layer outside of your wanted image area (i.e. everywhere else is transparent) then just use Image -Trim.
If there are pixels outside your wanted image area that you want to discard - then use the crop tool.

Crop and straighten photos in Photoshop. if you are a begginer you should go through this before cropping out the picture.

If you want to do this quickly , maybe on multiple images you can 'Crop' by selection
Assume this is the starting image-brown border simply because white doesn't show up on the forum.
Make a selection outlining the crop using the rectangular selection tool. You can adjust the position by holding down the 'spacebar'
Go to the image menu and click on 'Crop'
and it is done.
