By default every time I open a new document "smart guides" are turned on. It's driving me crazy having to turn them off every single time, for every single document. How do I get rid of these annoying pink lines and labels forever and ever?

1. Open your Photoshop project.
2. Click on the “View” menu at the top of the screen.
3. Select “Smart Guides.”
4. Click the checkmark next to “Smart Guides” to remove it and turn the feature off.
Edit: These instructions work using my Macbook Pro. The Smart guides do not return. If that's not working for you,
then it's likely a damaged Photoshop preferences file,
