Hello, i'm having a hard time trying to find a way to use the warp tool on shapes other than rectangles or simple shapes.
It's for using on mockup for exemple on a chipsbag, but the warp tool only has few anchor points, that don't fit the shape of a chipsbag for exemple, is there any way to add more anchor points to the warp tool or any other way to do the shape for then turn in into a smart object?
Thanks a lot!

You could try Puppet Warp

Do you know how to use masks? You can try to put the image at the right perspective and then you can add a mask to it, in order to remove the places you don't want to show the image. The only problem is that, depending on the image and the form you want to put it inside you can loose some parts of the original image. But, as far as I can think this is one of the best solutions.

Ok so i've tried puppet warp and mask and it doesn't work :(, there might be a way for sure, as there is a lot of mock ups working with the smart object that has a complex shape!

Can you post an example of what you are trying to warp and into what shape.

@dave yes i'm trying to wrap this chips bag, so when i do the smart object, then i can put my artwork to wrap exactly on the shape of the plastic bag, like it is done in mock ups that are already prepared 🙂

@davescm the warp works well on flat, rectangle surface, like for a label of a wine bottle, or a coffee cup, but if i want to do for example a whole bottle, or a product that has complex shape, i'm lost 😄

Hi
Puppet warp used to warp a rectangle onto the crisp bag shape. Note the mask which is unlinked from smart object containing the layers with logo etc. Also the bag in the layer stack above the warped SO and set to multiply blend mode
If you want this accurate though the easiest way is to make , or download a 3D model of your crisp bag and use 3D to place the image on the surface. You could at a push do that in Photoshop , but Dimension is easier and Blender better if you want full control over the model.
