Huion Tablet Pen stopped working in Photoshop CS 6, works fine in Photoshop CC 2019.
My case is a bit of a sad and complicated one.
I use Windows 10 OS, version 10.0.17763.
I use a Huion GT-156 v2.
I was trying to fix a problem with Photoshop CS 6 and Photoshop CC 2019, in which it would not allow me to use the Healing Brush Tool (I'd get that pop-up box telling me to use alt-click because the area was undefined.) It was a problem that persisted no matter whether I had my tablet plugged in or not, whether I used the keyboard or not.
I don't know precisely when the problem started-- it may have been after I tried to do the following in Windows powershell:
reg add HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Pen /v LegacyPenInteractionModel /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
However, I cannot be certain of the timing.
My pen then stopped working on both CS 6 and CC 2019. The cursor would not move with the pen, but it would move if I exited out of the program (the mouse was fine).
I tried several things:
* Restarting and shutting down my computer
* uninstalling the Huion table from the list of Drivers
* unplugging my tablet
* enabling and re-enabling Windows Ink
* making a PSUserConfig.txt file and saving it in the Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings folder.
I then uninstalled and reinstalled both versions of Photoshop. The pen now works fine with Photoshop CC 2019. It is still not working with Photoshop CS 6.
At this point, I'm desperate and quite willing to consider just resetting my entire computer. I'd really like it to not come to that, but I'm willing to consider it.
Photoshop CS6 has also begun demanding administrator permission every time I open it.
