I just received my new MacBook Pro.... I WENT TO ADOBE'S SITE to download a prior purchase PS6. I do not use creative cloud. I bought the stand alone version
When I try to begin the install, I get an error message from Adobe stating a file is missing. PS6 will not install.
I need help so I can get back to work. Any help leading me to a working download for Sierra would be great.

I was able to follow these instructions and when I entered my serial number it says the serial number is valid, but could not find a qualifying product.
I paid $426 for ps6 so I am under the impression it was not an upgrade.... why would it tell me my serial number could not find a qualifying product....
I have legally owned PS6,5,4,3, etc..... why was I able to use this for the past couple years, and now I am not able to install it on my new computer.....

Can you clarify whether it is PS6 or CS6? If it is CS6 then it should work subject to a qualifying product. Upgrades require a qualifying product or a serial number.
If it is PS6 (very old product which nobody here remembers or ever used (I haven't used it) the you might get CS2 free of charge or buy Photoshop Elements 15 that is likely to be more powerful than PS6.

It is CS6 extended..... but I can't seem to find the qualifying product in my Adobe account.... There is no explanation, unless I have multiple adobe accounts..... But I must have had a qualifying purchase in order for it to have installed

I clicked on that link.... it only shows the CS6
Adobe Photoshop CS6 ExtendedUpgrade, Mac, English, DownloadQuantity: 1 Total: US$426.93 it doesn't show older versions I purchased...... I wonder if there is a way for adobe to check my past purchases by my name instead of my email...... I may have used a different account to purchase the older qualifying version |

It looks like you'll need the assistance of Adobe Customer Care services. They have a chat line so try it or you could use the Twitter or Facebook page. The chat line is at this link:
I don't use Twitter or facebook so I don't have their links.

Do you have a MAC CS6 Licence serial number? Mac Security has been known to interfere with Downloaded installers and cause them to fail to install.
Download Adobe Creative Suite 6 applications
PS6 is 16+ years old release in 2000 before ACR and Photoshop scripting.

That Mac Security would be called "Gatekeeper". CS6 is "signed" for it unlike CS5 and earlier. No problem there.
Photoshop 6 would never install or run on Sierra. It goes back to the Motorola PPC CPUs, which are long gone.
CS6 Mac would be it and R. Kelly's link should fix it.
and unless a Windows emulator is being run on his Mac, the Windows version of CS6 won't.

Probably PS version 6 (don't confuse with CS6 here) is no longer available from Adobe websites so your only option is to upgrade to Creative Cloud subscription or try to see if CS2 is available to you free of charge and it is available from Adobe website with correct serial number that requires no activation.
