I cannot edit in Photoshop when opening a file from Lightroom

November 21st, 2018, I have just discovered that when using the Lightroom Classic option "Edit in Adobe Photoshop" to open a file in Photoshop, many of the editing options in Photoshop are greyed out and unavailable. Too many to mention them all, everything in the view menu is greyed out, as well as the image and edit menus. So I am unable to do anything. However, if I open the file directly from Photoshop, everything works as it should.

I have used the option in the past without any problems. Can anyone help with this? Am I doing something wrong?

This is with the updates from November 2108, Lightroom Classic version 8.0, and Photoshop Version 20.0.1.

Hi

This is a known issue

Bug - Image and Layer options are greyed out if and only if Photoshop CC 2019 is launched from Lightroom CC Classic

The workaround is:

1. open Lightroom CC Classic,

2. open Photoshop CC 2019,

3. Select any images, and right click then select 'Edit in Adobe Photoshop CC 2019'

4. once the image is opened in Photoshop, the options under Image and Layers are now available.

Thanks for sharing the work around. Just checked the release today (12//11/18) and unfortunately this issue wasn't fixed.
