Hi, I'm having a serious issue finding actions in the Photoshop CC 2021.  They are not under the presets/actions folder.  In fact, I just made a simple action called "John.atn" and I did a search on my mac, the file doesn't exist.  I'm baffled, I have a ton of actions I want to move over to a new computer.  Am I missing something?  Can someone help?  I have no idea how I can create an action, see it and use it in photoshop, but it's not locateable on OSX, latest version.  Please help!

You should always save a selected action set to .atn files using the menu in the action panel.

Hi, those are old articles and don't apply to Photoshop CC 2020.  What I'm saying is that I created some new actions and want to put them on a new computer.  The actions I created aren't in the spot they should be on OSX Photoshop CC 2020.  I need to know if someone can tell me where they are located.

Edit: I have updated the path for later versions in Windows:

Unsaved Photoshop actions are stored in the Actions Palette:

Actions Palette.psp

The location of the Actions Palette.psp file can be found in locations similar to:

Mac:

/Users/username/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop ??? Settings/Actions Palette.psp

If the path has changed for later versions of Photoshop on the Mac, it should be easy enough to find working forwards from the Preferences folder listed above.

Win:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop\???\Adobe Photoshop ??? Settings\Actions Palette.psp

C:\Users\username\appData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop ???\Adobe Photoshop ??? Settings\Actions Palette.psp

P.S. On Windows OS, the AppData directory is hidden by default.

The best practice is to manually save out each action set individually to a .atn (action) file using the menu on the upper right of the action palette window.

Good luck!

I struggled with this. First put your actions in a set/folder, then you can export the set from the actions menu.
