I don't have an option for the type mask tool in the tool box

For some reason, I can't get the mask type tool from the tool box. My only options are the regular horizontal and vertical type. No options for the mask. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I finally found it in the edit tool box. Now how do I make it a available in the type tool box?
