Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences (Photoshop > Preferences > Performance > Graphic Processor Settings) and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

Does turning on »Deactivate Native Canvas« (Photoshop > Preferences > Technology Previews) and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

8GB RAM technically meets the requirements but it’s less than recommended.

Photoshop tends to use a lot of RAM indeed, but it also depends on the settings and the images being edited.

Sorry, I don’t know.

If the issue becomes relevant again, please try basic some trouble-shooting and if that doesn’t alleviate the situation post again.

Your machine probably has an Intel video chip that shares the system memory. With »Use Graphics Processor« turned ON Photoshop off-loads screen tasks to the GPU (video chip) which is fine if you have a dedicated GPU, but gobbles up extra system memory if your GPU is not.

That's probably what's going on. Does your office PC have on-board Intel graphics?
