I Get a Program Error When I Try to Use Blur Gallery

Hello,

I think the title says it all! Blur Gallery will not work - I just get a program error. It used to work fine but I think one of the updates buggered it up.

I used the diagnostic too. The results are below. Thanks for your help.

My system basics in case it matters:

Windows 11 64 bit

GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GT 710

Processor - AMD Ryzen 5 3600X

RAM - 16MB

Cheers,

Paul

Hello, with each new version, the requirements for Photoshop become more stringent. The latest version relies a lot on the GPU, and according to https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-cc-gpu-card-faq.html Blur gallery is one of parts of Photoshop that requires the GPU.

See also the recommendation to have a GPU with a passmark of 2000Ops/Sec? your GPU scores at 357 Ops/Sec...

Also, you could try to check "Deactivate Native Canvas" in the menu Edit/Preferences/Technology preview (Pc) or Photoshop/Preferences/Technology preview (Mac), then restart Photoshop. This uses an older way to display images on screen...

But it might not help, as Blur Gallery is an OpenCL filter.

    Hello PECourtjoie,

Thanks for your advice. I ticked the "Deactivate Native Canvas" option and that worked. Thanks!

I was beginning to think that I needed a new GPU anyway as some games are very jerky and also the erase feature in PS is also slow. I'll get Christmas out of the way and get onto that.

Thanks again and the Season's Best to you and yours.

    Regards

    Paul

Is this a question about the Photoshop CC product? If so, please say yes and also tell us the version. Not "latest" please, looking for actual numbers. Moderators will be able to move this to the correct forum. If some other product, please say so.
