I know I had my account email registered with Adobe. Is there any way they can give me my old serial number for CS5? Back then you didn't have to pay by the month, it was a one time fee, paid for by my college. Is there anyone who can please help me?

If you have a license number registered to your individual name, the only place you may be able to find it is on the Products page of your Adobe.com account. However, I note that my CS6 license number is not there. (I'm not sure if that was registered to a different Adobe account.) The type of license you have, particularly since it was from an educational institution, may also not be valid for you as an individual. And lastly, because of the age of the software, I'm not sure that it can be activated any more.
In any event, you have posted in the Photoshop Elements forum. I am going to move your post to the Photoshop Ecosystem forum where you may get more informed help.

Since it was an educational version, you will need the original installation file or disc(s).
A non-educational version will not accept an educational version serial number.
