Please explain what you mean by needing an "active bridge."  Are your referring to the application Bridge ceasing to work?  Adobe Camera Raw is the engine/application within Bridge and Lightroom for processing RAW files.  Also, most camera manufacturers supply RAW processing software with their cameras.  What is your file extension?  For example, Canon tends to be .cr2, Nikon is .nef, etc?

I'm guessing you are looking for Adobe Bridge. If you are on the Creative Cloud, open your CC desktop application, and navigate to Apps. Scroll down to Bridge—if it is installed, click on Open. If it isn't, click on Install. If you are not on CC, let us know what version of Photoshop you are using, and what your operating system is so that we can give you specific instructions to locate the program.
