Which version of OS X are you running? Did you buy Photoshop Elements or subscribe to Photoshop?
Photoshop requires at least OS X 10.10

The beauty of the CC membership is that you can use prior versions that your system supports.

That's sharp thinking Gene. Using a Mac hasn't completely scrambled your brain cells.

One of the key things you need to do is know what version of Mac OS you are running, and check all purchases against that. A LOT of software won't run on old systems. If you don't know how to find out, let us know.

They are exactly right. You can download an older version of Photoshop through your subscription. Yes, I know that might not be what you want to hear. But that is the way all software works. A new version of Microsoft Office might not run on an older Mac as well. I would say find the latest version that will run on your computer. If after you do not like that version then ask for a refund or to cancel your subscription. For me Photoshop is the best product out there no matter the version.
Plus, there are user groups around the world that you can meet up with and learn more about the software. Which is cool. Not too many alternatives have such communities.
