Image is distorted after sending photo from Bridge to Photoshop

Just go to Photoshop Preferences > Performance and uncheck "Use Graphics Processor". Relaunch.

Yes I will be getting a new laptop within the next few weeks but for now I just have this one. In the meantime, I will try your solution and see if i'm still able to get these photos edited with the changes. Can you tell me how I can disable GPU in preferences? I just want to make sure I do the right thing. Thank you!

Well, right off, an integrated Intel GPU is really not sufficient to run Photoshop nowadays. It will get more and more urgent with every new Photoshop update, as more functions are moved to the GPU.

Intel GPUs are very much marginal already. It might work and it might not.

You need something more powerful. Since you're on Mac, that means you should consider moving up to an M1 or M2 model.

In the meantime, you may need to disable the GPU altogether in Preferences. That will limit Photoshop's functionality somewhat, but all the basic functions should still work.

I have been having many, many issues with Photoshop the past couple of weeks so I have already tried this solution for something else. It is already selected and seems to have helped that issue. This current issue is still happening, and though I previously posted that there is a way to "fix" the image, it is not happening that way for me anymore. I am unable to fix the images when they open this way now. Here is the system info:

Looks like a GPU bug. Try Preferences > Technology Previews > Deactivate Native Canvas. This reverts the GPU code back to the older OpenGL APIs.

If that fixes it, you should post full Help > System Info here, so the engineers can have a closer look. Could be an Adobe bug, could be an Apple bug.

I wanted to add that I've tried opening the images straight from the folder in finder, and I've also opened them up just straight from Photoshop and they still appear glitched or distorted, whatever you want to call it. The bottom of the Portrait style photos appears at the top of the image. At this time, the images that are appearing with the bottom at the top can only be fixed by unlocking the layer, and then dragging the image to where it's supposed to be (the image snaps back to normal once I drag it up).
