Image keeps moving when I use some tools

Ok, so...

I reinstalled Photoshop on my device. I usually keep the Photoshop tools menu in 2 columns. Whenever I have the tools menu in 2 columns, I select the Eyedropper tool and try to use it on my picture, the picture keeps flickering. Not black and white, etc. But the picture suddenly starts enlarging a bit more on the lower side. So... the picture/canvas enlarges a bit vertically. Then after some time, like 1-2 seconds, it moves back. It's not much of a "jiggle", it's just like 1-2mm on my screen. But it's incredibly frustrating to keep having this jiggle whenever I edit. This happens with other tools too, the lasso tool, the eraser, etc.

This doesn't happen if I use all tools in 1 column. So, if I press that button above the tools menu, and I keep all tools in 1 column then this jiggle no longer happens. I can do whatever I want. I'm just... more used to having 2 columns for tools.

I tried video recording when this happens. Weirdly, on the video the jiggle doesn't appear at all. While recording I could clearly see the jiggle, on the video, there's no jiggle. I guess maybe this is related to my GPU? I have an AMD RX 6700S. So, Idk how I could show it either... I can show you what I meant by the tools menu on 1 or 2 columns, since I might not have been clear with that.

Does anybody have a solution for this?

Please try to disable the option to "Use Graphics Procesor" from Photoshop by going to Preferences, then Performance. Once done, quit & relaunch Photoshop to check if that helps.

If it helps, you can check out the steps suggested here:  https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-gpu-graphics-card.html

If the issue persists, you can try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps described here:

Preferences in Photoshop (adobe.com)

Please backup your settings before resetting the preferences. You can check:

Migrate presets, actions, and settings (adobe.com)

Another try is to enable the Older GPU Mode option in "Preferences" > "Technology Previews" > "Use Older GPU Mode (pre 2016)". Then goto "Preferences" > "Technology Previews" and enable "Disable Native Canvas". Restart Photoshop.

If this all doesn't help, we need more informations aubout your system. Maybe you can post your Photoshop system info. In Photoshop goto Help > System Info and hit the copy button. Then paste the entire informations into this thread.

Hi Axel, thanks for your reply! I tried them in order from top to bottom from the list you sent. The first ones didn't work, but when I enabled Older GPU Mode it started working. I no longer had that issue, but now it's moving a bit.... laggy. Like... in 30 fps as well or something. Then I tried to enable "Deactivate Native Canvas". When I enabled it, it started doing the jittering again, even with the Older GPU Mode enabled. So I turned off Deactivate Native Canvas again.

So, with Older GPU Mode enabled, Deactivate Native Canvas disabled, I no longer have the jittering, but now the app is laggy. If I would have to choose between using the app like this, or the 1 column version I would rather use the 1 column version.

I have just a few more options left to do from that link you sent about "troubleshooting GPU cards", which were... 1. To update my drivers, which I know they were already upgraded, but somehow now it found some more to upgrade, so after a restart of my laptop I'll try again. And then the other option would be to turn off my integrated gpu, but I don't think it should be an issue. Though those 2 are the only ones I didn't try yet. I'll do a restart and check if anything got fixed after updating my drivers.

Thanks again!

An update... There's no update. I tried everything, the only way it's working is if I enable "Older GPU Mode", but then the app is laggy. I'm more used to the "fast" newer model, and that slow/laggy one feels so bad to use. The other option is to use the 1 column tools bar, which I'm currently using. It's working decently well so far, I don't have any issues, I usually use shortcuts anyways, sooo yeah.
