Image not visible in Photoshop 21.1

No matter how I launch a photo in PS 21.1, it never shows up in the editing screen, but it shows in layers panel as 'background'.  I launch from Lightroom or open an image on my computer, it doesn't show up.  So thankfully I still have PS 2019.  That is what I have to use until I know how to resolve the issue.

Hi there,

We are sorry about the experience with Photoshop. Would you mind sharing the operating system you are working with?

Please go to the Preferences for Photoshop 2020, then Performance and uncheck the option to Use Graphics Processor. Once done, quit and relaunch Photoshop to check if that helps. If the issue persists, please share a screenshot of the interface of Photoshop along with the layers panel.

Thank you so much.  Yes that worked perfectly.  I am using Mac OS Catalina 10.15.3
