Question

Image shifts position after rotating canvas

In Photoshop 2020, the rotate canvas tool is acting up.  When I finish the rotation, Photoshop automatically shifts the position of image.  When zoomed in, the section you were working on in no longer visible due to the image shift. Every time I rotate the canvas, I have to pan back to the area of canvas where I was working.

Has anyone have this problem and have a fix?  Thanks.

Hi there,

Sorry that Photoshop 2020 shifts the position of the image when the canvas is rotated.

Which exact version of Photoshop are you using? (Check under Help> System info)

A similar issues was addressed by the 21.1.1 update.

Thanks,

Akash

I have 21.1.2 on Mac.  Problem started a couple of days ago.  Persists even after manually moving my Adobe Photoshop 2020 Prefs.psp file to the desktop and relaunch.  My 2019 Photoshop is still installed and it rotates properly.

Rotation works properly if application frame is used.  I prefer to use without the frame.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

If you use the application frame to display in tabs, overscrolling becomes possible when you zoom in.
However, when displaying in a window, overscrolling is not possible even if you zoom in.

There is a difference in the image shift due to this difference.

Check "Preferences / Tools / Overscroll" to avoid shifting the image when viewed in a window for now.
I am requesting a fix for this bug.
