Image size crash issue.

Hi all, for months now I have lived with an infuriating bug but can no longer. I create large files to check out suface patterns and if I post on social media I will add a logo resize and save. Almost everytime I forget to merge or flatten the file before I do this when I revert to image size to alter the DPI etc for the web the everything grinds to a halt the spinning beachball appears and it crashes. Fatal error or known bug with no fix? Please assist.

resizing the doc will not resize the smart objects. open one of them and check its image size, you may be surprised…

One thing I did note: 6927 MB Memory available to Photoshop.

11794 MB Memory used by Photoshop.

Running large files can eat up RAM in no time.

My concern is you only have a total of 16 GB RAM and if you have anything else running you could be low on remaining RAM which would cause all of the afforementioned issues and more.

Can you capture your Photoshop performance preference window and post it here?

Want to verify first before determining.

Kevin been out of the loop. I have switched to using the Beta version and all my issues have evaporated but I have absorbed your feedback and have adopted some new tactics like upscaling on PPI and down sizing actual file size it helps a great deal.
