Sorry if this is a repeat.  This is my first attempt at a "conversation".  Problem is the image size in Photos on my Mac (version 10.14) is much, much bigger (8.7 MB) than the image size when I bring it into Photoshop (1.8 MB).  The goal is to print an 8 x 10.  When I brought it to Costco to have it done it had a "low resolution" error.  Which setting needs to be corrected and how?  I spoke with Apple first and they forwarded me to you.

Photoshop does not change resolution when you open a file in there, so must be something you done. Please post screenshots, and let us know step by step what you done.

Show us how many pixels you have in both programs, and state your file format you save to. The amoutn of pixles should be the same

Apple Photos gets weirder all the time. You can't really just drag an image out or save it and assume that you're getting the full size file. Assuming that you're doing this on a dektop or laptop and not a mobile deveice you'll want to:

Open Photos

Select the desired Photo

Go to File > Export

Choose: Export Unmodified Original of 1 Photo

That should fix you up.
